Pediatric eye exam at Ozark Eye in Pea Ridge

Can my pediatrician do an eye exam?

455 Slack St, Pea Ridge, AR (479) 208-6175 Insurance options reviewed before your visit
Your pediatrician can do a vision screening, and that is useful, but a screening isn’t a comprehensive eye exam. It mainly checks how clearly your child sees a chart at a distance.

A comprehensive pediatric eye exam goes further. It checks how the eyes team together and focus up close for reading, looks for misalignment and lazy eye (amblyopia), tests color vision and depth perception, and examines the health of the eyes. Plenty of children pass screenings while a real vision problem goes unaddressed.

At Ozark Eye, pediatric exams use pictures and shapes for kids who can’t read yet, and most school-age exams take about 30 minutes. Arkansas Medicaid and a wide range of vision plans are accepted.
