Designer eyewear and frames at Ozark Eye in Pea Ridge

What is the difference between an optometrist and an optician?

455 Slack St, Pea Ridge, AR (479) 208-6175 Most insurance accepted
An optometrist examines your eyes and writes your prescription. An optician turns that prescription into glasses that fit: helping you choose frames and lenses, taking measurements, and adjusting the finished pair.

Optometrists are doctors (OD) who test vision, check eye health, fit contact lenses and treat eye conditions; see what an optometrist does. Opticians don’t examine eyes or diagnose problems. Their work is the eyewear itself, including measurements such as pupil distance, which matter more as prescriptions get stronger.

At Ozark Eye both are under one roof in Pea Ridge: Dr. Daiber does the exam, and the optical showroom handles frames, lenses and fittings. You don’t need an appointment to browse or try on frames; walk in during business hours and an optician will help you find the right pair. You can also take your prescription anywhere you like.
